GENERAL SUMMARY


The Pharmacy Operations Specialist role in Account Management will be key to our future success in the health plan market. In this role, the Operations Specialist will be provided the opportunity, the training and the resources needed to help ensure that Coventry Health Plans can successfully implement and manage pharmacy programs and processes necessary to be competitive in the health plan market today and in the future.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Pharmacy Operations Specialist will be a very important member of the Pharmacy Account Management team. The Operations Specialist in Account Management will be the primary point person for the health plans in the following key areas:
- Escalated member and group issues
- Benefit design builds and consultation
- Implementation of key pharmacy programs for the health plan
The Pharmacy Operations Specialist will be assigned and responsible for a specific grouping of key health plans. Coordinating with the assigned Pharmacy Director, the Operations Specialist will be responsible for managing the operational aspects of the pharmacy program for their assigned health plans. The Operations Specialist will be responsible for managing certain key job functions on a daily and weekly basis:

- Develop and manage a standard Pharmacy Issues Log for each health plan - tracking progress and completion of identified pharmacy issues and reporting status back to the plan.
- Manage a regularly-scheduled Pharmacy Issue Log Review meeting with key health plan stake holders. The frequency and attendees would be defined in coordination with the Pharmacy Director and plan.
- Recommend and coordinate process improvements for key pharmacy-related processes (e.g. benefit builds, testing, issues escalation, ad hoc reporting, etc.) as identified in conjunction with the Pharmacy Director and plan.

- Act as primary point of contact for the health plan for operational issues and processes such as benefit builds, programs and new group implementation.

- Support health plan Sales and Account Management functions as needed. Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the health plan.

- Performs other duties as required.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous (1-2 years) customer service experience required.
- Previous Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
